Our Commitments

As part of its commitment to a sustainable development policy, since 2011 the Evian Resort has chosen to work wih the LPO (League for the Protection of Birds) by signing an agreement to become an LPO sanctuary, with regards to the grounds and gardens of the Royal and Ermitage hotels and the Grange au Lac. We undertake to welcome, protect and promote biodiversity on our sites, prohibit hunting and fishing, and provide conditions that promote the health of the soil and wild animals and plants. 

Use of eco-friendly Ecocert certified products (made in France with over 95% natural ingredients).

Transformation of 4.2 acres into permanent meadows to improve our abundance of biodiversity and help safeguard our resources. Educational initiatives: installation of nesting boxes, inventory of insects and butterflies, and educational activities for children and staff.

To maintain our grounds, we use organic-certified products that ensure environmentally-friendly practices.

rainwater collection irrigation system, weather station to optimise watering, and use of mulching to save water (slows down the infiltration of water in the soil and reduces the rate of plant growth).

completely natural, pesticide-free and grown using permaculture techniques with mulching: protects the soil from the impact of the climate, insulates, fertilises, nourishes and kills weeds. 

installed in our showers, toilets, and on wash basins.  

waste sorting, upcycling of biowaste, and reducing unnecessary packaging.

shuttle service that uses electric vehicles, e-bikes, and charging stations for electric vehicles.

supporting local and French producers, and use of French meats.

making organic honey, harvesting fruit and vegetables from our various kitchen gardens at the Hôtel Royal, Hôtel Ermitage and La Verniaz.

fish supply from sustainable fishing methods and respecting spawning periods.

training programmes on sustainable development, management, leadership and safety.

safety policy, accident prevention and staff benefits (accommodation, catering, priority access to services)

partnerships with local associations involving donations of food and furniture, and charitable activities (Les Restos du Cœurs, Les enfants du Léman, Don du sang, Glisse en cœur, Responsiable Reservations with Guestonline,…) 

collection and recycling of soap in the hotels for humanitarian purposes in collaboration with the UNISOAP association.
