Beyond the memories it creates for those who have crossed its threshold, the Hôtel Ermitage has many stories to tell about the eras it has traversed.
Behind its joinery, reminiscent of iconic timber framing, under its roof with an accent as British as it is bucolic, the Hôtel Ermitage has always given utmost attention to its guests. Upon its opening in 1909, it initially welcomed a prestigious clientele of noble families and dignitaries, captivated by the architecture of this chalet in the Anglo-Norman style.
During the 1950s, it was transformed into a hospital; vacationers seeking tranquility gave way to patients regaining strength in this restful setting.
Rehabilitation
It was only in 1991 that the Hôtel Ermitage was restored to its original purpose.
Acquired by the Société des Eaux Minérales d’Évian, it became a hotel establishment that fully embraces its environment. Following renovations led by
the decorator Patrick Ribes, the hotel became a true cocoon.
Mineral materials, wood, and its warm hues create an atmosphere of utmost softness.
